Vaping CBD oil and CBD aromatherapy: Should I put CBD oil in a diffuser?

Vaping CBD oil and CBD aromatherapy work under the same principle, that is, the devices dispense CBD oil and water into the air. Isn’t water vapor in your lungs bad? Yes, health concerns associated with vaping exist, but taking proper precautions can lessen the risk.

  • The FDA discourages use of cannabis or its extracts while pregnant or breastfeeding. CBD and other cannabinoids are fat soluble and may be passed to the fetus or child during breastfeeding. Additionally, the long-term effects of CBD exposure on the developing brain are still under investigation. 
  • The first signs of an allergic reaction to essential oil include congestion, sneezing, watery eyes, and runny nose. if you exhibit any of said symptoms, discontinue inhalation, application, or ingestion.

  • If you have an underlying condition, are pregnant, or are on medication that may interact with CBD oil, such as blood thinners, consult with a physician before vaping CBD oil or aromatherapy. Recommend diffusing or vaping away from pets and minors. 
  • Limit exposure to CBD or other essential oil to pets or minors. If you are considering giving CBD to a pet, consult with a vet. Remember, too much CBD can be harmful to the liver.

How do I diffuse CBD oil?

The traditional method of diffusing CBD or THC is a vape pen or vaporizer. To enhance or “share the experience,” you may use different types of diffusers, including heat diffusers, ultrasonic diffusers, or evaporative diffusers. 

Bottom line: should I put CBD in a diffuser?

Pure CBD oil aromatherapy, diffusion, or vaping are generally safe. The problems may stem from mixing CBD with other essential oils. Some essential oils cause irritation, inflammation, and other symptoms when inhaled.

Do I need a diffuser, vape pen, or vaporizer for aromatherapy?

One need not have tools to enjoy CBD aromatherapy. Vapes and diffusers enhance the effect and improve delivery. However, if you do not have the tools, you may:

  • Sprinkle CBD on your pillow.
  • Add it to bath water. 
  • Add a few drops of CBD oil to warm water and place near a heat source (boiling is not necessary).
  • You may inhale steam from boiling water mixed with CBD oil.
