Vaping CBD oil and CBD aromatherapy: Should I put CBD oil in a diffuser?

Vaping CBD oil and CBD aromatherapy work under the same principle, that is, the devices dispense CBD oil and water into the air. Isn’t water vapor in your lungs bad? Yes, health concerns associated with vaping exist, but taking proper precautions can lessen the risk.

You want to avoid vaping if you have pulmonary or cardiovascular health issues.

Below are the benefits of CBD aromatherapy and vaping.

  • As an essential oil, CBD has an excellent safety profile. However, the carrier or essential oil you mix CBD with may cause allergic reactions. We recommend allergy testing essential oils before use in aromatherapy or vaping.
  • If you have pulmonary health issues, consult with a physician before vaping or inhaling CBD or other essential oils.
  • The side effects of vaping CBD are mild and go away if you discontinue use.

What is CBD aromatherapy?

Just like vaping, CBD aromatherapy offers near-instant results for anxiety and pain. It also promotes a deep sense of mind and body relaxation. Add to that improved sleep quality and mood control, and you have zero reasons not to inhale CBD daily.

While vaping or diffusing, you may use pure CBD oil or couple it with essential oils.

If you have no worries over getting high, full spectrum CBD or THC-rich oil can be of benefit. Why?

The “entourage effect” that occurs when you use CBD, THC, and essential oils -is believed to increase the therapeutic properties of each compound.

The best way to describe CBD aromatherapy is a holistic treatment for the mind and body. By improving one’s physical health, the mind focuses less on what ails it.

For centuries, man has used aromatherapy to enjoy benefits including:

  • A boosted immune system. There is evidence that aromatherapy helps the body fight bacteria, viruses, and fungi. When applied topically or inhaled, CBD offers the same benefits and regulates immune reaction.
  • To improve digestive health.
  • To relieve different types of pain, including headaches and nerve pain.

How does CBD aromatherapy work?

When you inhale CBD or other essential oil, researchers believe tiny particles activate smell receptors in your nose that send messages to your brain using the nervous system as a “highway.”

CBD not only interacts with the endocannabinoid system but also the limbic system to help regulate mood and emotions. Some studies suggest that CBD may interact with the hypothalamus -causing the body to release serotonin, a “feel good” compound that makes you feel good.

In short, CBD aromatherapy is a full-body experience. It helps the mind and body, triggering anxiety, pain, and inflammation relief.

Tip: if you work in a high-stress environment, inhaling CBD can help keep your mood and anxiety in check. You need not vape; you may take whiffs of CBD strategically throughout the day. Will CBD show up in drug tests? Yes and no. It depends on the product you are using. If the product has high levels of THC or another psychoactive compound, a drug test will come out positive. Because of that, it is recommended that you use products that contain less than 0.3% THC.

Why use CBD aromatherapy?

Vaping CBD or CBD aromatherapy is a complementary treatment for ailments including:

  • Insomnia. CBD promotes deeper sleep, relaxes the mind and muscles, and regulates mood. At high doses the compound has a sedative effect, meaning it can put you to sleep.
  • Nausea and lack of appetite. THC has benefits, including appetite improvement. CBD counters the psychoactive effects of THC. If you are undergoing chemo, have nausea, or lost your appetite, a combination of CBD and THC can be of benefit.
  • Mood control. CBD is believed to improve confidence, focus, and mood. If you experience negative intrusive thoughts, consider inhaling CBD throughout the day.
  • Skin protection. CBD vapor, when it lands on the skin is believed to protect from bacteria and other microorganisms.

Additional benefits of Vaping or diffusing CBD oil include:

  • CBD can relieve muscle tension and soreness.
  • Aromatherapy can help prevent mood swings caused by hormonal changes.
  • Improve circulation.
  • Healthier and younger-looking skin. Recommend CBD spa treatment to enjoy full body benefits.

Can you mix CBD oil with other essential oils?

Essential oils offer numerous health benefits. For instance, did you know that lavender oil aromatherapy, according to research, can help prevent or manage nausea, menstrual cramps, fungal infections, allergies, and depression?

If you do not fancy the smell of pure CBD, you may couple it with an essential oil of choice to not only enjoy the entourage effect but to also improve the experience.

You may also invest in flavored vape juices.

Essential oils you should consider coupling with CBD in a diffuser or vaporizer include:

  • Jasmine
  • Chamomile
  • Tea tree oil
  • Bergamot
  • Peppermint.

Allergy warning.

When isolated, CBD has an excellent safety profile, meaning one is unlikely to suffer negative side effects after inhalation, ingestion, or topical application. However, essential oils can trigger allergic reactions in some, meaning it is essential to ensure that you test the oil before consuming or inhaling large quantities.

If you are prone to allergies, essential oils may cause mild to severe symptoms, including irritation, inflammation, respiratory symptoms, and skin problems.

Note. CBD works similarly to antihistamines, meaning if an essential oil triggers an allergic reaction, you may apply CBD topically or inhale it to enjoy relief.

What to remember:

  • Some essential oils are endocrine system disruptors meaning they may interfere with the immune and reproductive systems. Recommend avoiding pine oil, tea tree oil, eucalyptus, and camphor essential oils as they may cause adverse side effects.
  • The FDA discourages use of cannabis or its extracts while pregnant or breastfeeding. CBD and other cannabinoids are fat soluble and may be passed to the fetus or child during breastfeeding. Additionally, the long-term effects of CBD exposure on the developing brain are still under investigation.
  • The first signs of an allergic reaction to essential oil include congestion, sneezing, watery eyes, and runny nose. if you exhibit any of said symptoms, discontinue inhalation, application, or ingestion.

For safety reasons -we recommend doing the following before vaping CBD oil or other essential oils.

  • If you have an underlying condition, are pregnant, or are on medication that may interact with CBD oil, such as blood thinners, consult with a physician before vaping CBD oil or aromatherapy. Recommend diffusing or vaping away from pets and minors.
  • Limit exposure to CBD or other essential oil to pets or minors. If you are considering giving CBD to a pet, consult with a vet. Remember, too much CBD can be harmful to the liver.

How do I diffuse CBD oil?

The traditional method of diffusing CBD or THC is a vape pen or vaporizer. To enhance or “share the experience,” you may use different types of diffusers, including heat diffusers, ultrasonic diffusers, or evaporative diffusers.

Bottom line: should I put CBD in a diffuser?

Pure CBD oil aromatherapy, diffusion, or vaping are generally safe. The problems may stem from mixing CBD with other essential oils. Some essential oils cause irritation, inflammation, and other symptoms when inhaled.

Consequently, testing essential oils before use is important.

Do I need a diffuser, vape pen, or vaporizer for aromatherapy?

One need not have tools to enjoy CBD aromatherapy. Vapes and diffusers enhance the effect and improve delivery. However, if you do not have the tools, you may:

  • Sprinkle CBD on your pillow.
  • Add it to bath water.
  • Add a few drops of CBD oil to warm water and place near a heat source (boiling is not necessary).
  • You may inhale steam from boiling water mixed with CBD oil.
